While Prague Castle and Charles Bridge offer undeniably iconic shots, sometimes it’s the hidden gems, just a short journey from the bustling capital, that truly steal your heart – and your camera’s memory card. One such place is the enchanting Castle Blatná.
Nestled amidst the tranquil South Bohemian landscape, Castle Blatná is a true architectural marvel. What makes it particularly unique, and a joy for any photographer, is its identity as a water castle. Surrounded by a shimmering moat and set within a sprawling English-style park, it offers a myriad of photographic opportunities, no matter the season.

The history of Blatná dates back to the 13th century, with whispers of Templar origins. Over the centuries, it has been shaped by various noble families, each leaving their distinctive mark on its design, resulting in a fascinating blend of Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, and Neo-Gothic styles.
